FAYETTEVILLE — What in the world is wrong with us Americans? I just had a call from one of Sen. Blanche Lincoln’s survey groups informing me that I was to be connected to Mrs. Lincoln’s office so that I could tell her that I am totally against the health care plan.

What plan is this?

Are we cattle being let to the chopping block? Are we so dumb that we cannot make up our minds about something as big as this plan?

How in the world would I or anyone else know if we are for the plan or against it. All we hear is the Republicans calling the Democrats liarsand the Democrats saying the Republicans are against everything they are striving for.

Frankly, who cares anymore.

We are all being led down the garden path by people who are only interested in their party, not the well-being of the future of our country.

How do you possibly know if you are for or against something when we have nothing to compare this plan with? Many countries have had different plans than ours for years. All the plans have thousands of pages, which we know we would not read, nor will our congressmen read them. Yes, some of them have terrible health care, but not all.

Why do we have to believe the press and television people?

Why do we not have an actual cross reference between several well-known plans and ours? I for one am not voting for any plan until I can see a comparison with other countries that work.

Come on people, get off your lazy butts and write to your congressman and your president. You do not need to threaten them that you won’t vote for them again. If they get enough letters and e-mails, I would hope they will be smart enough to figure that out themselves.
