ARKANSAS SCORPIONS: Arkansas Scorpions Baseball Inc. is seeking players for the 2010 season. Players can’t be 14 before May 1, 2010. Players are needed for the 13 Major Arkansas Scorpions and 13AAA Arkansas Sting.

NWA DRILLERS: The NWA Drillers 10AA baseball team is holding tryouts for the spring 2010 season. Players cannot turn 11 before April 30, 2010.

ARKANSAS STING: The Arkansas Sting, an affiliate of Arkansas Scorpions baseball team, is seeking a few players for the 2010 season.

NWA THUNDER: The NWA Thunder baseball team will be having a tryout on Nov. 8. Players who have not turned 14 by May 1, 2010 and are interested in playing competitive baseball should attend the tryout.

BASKETBALL BENTONVILLE TRYOUTS: The Bentonville Basketball Club fall tryouts are on the following dates: Boys grades 5 and 7, Nov. 3 from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Bentonville High auxiliary gym; Boys grade 6, Nov. 4 from 6-7:30 p.m. at Bentonville High auxiliary gym. A final tryout will be Nov. 5 from 6-7:30 p.m. The fee is $100 per player who makes the team.

ROGERS YOUTH LEAGUE: Registration for the Rogers Community-School Recreation Association youth basketball program is being taken at the Rogers Activity Center and online at www.

rogersarkansas.com/parks. Programs are open to boys and girls grades K-12 and players must have a current RAC card. The leagues are broken down by grades: Grades K-1 is a Lil’ Hoopsters Instructional Class. Cost for registration is $40. Registration will be taken through Jan. 4, 2010 and the class begins Jan. 9, 2010; Grades 2-5 is a youth recreational league, focusing on fundamentals and player participation. Cost for registration is $50. Registration will be taken through Nov. 13.; Grades 6-8 is a competitive middle school league that will better prepare participants for future schoollevel play. Cost for registration is $50.

UPWARD BASKETBALL/ CHEERLEADING: The Rogers FBC, Lowell FBC and Rogers 1st Church of the Nazarene are partnering again this year to offer Upward Basketball and Cheerleading for K-6 graders.

BENTONVILLE UPWARD LEAGUE: The Bentonville Upward Basketball league and cheerleading is now accepting registrations for its 2010 season. The program is offered for boys and girls who turn six years old by Jan. 1, 2010, through sixth grade. All players must attend a skills evaluation on Saturday. TIPS CAMP: Bentonville High is accepting registrations for the TiPs: Tigers in Progress basketball mini-camp Monday. The camps will run from 6-8 p.m. both nights at the Bentonville gymnasium. BENTONVILLE BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB: Registration dates have been announced for basketball leagues in the Bentonville Boys & Girls Club.

The are: Nov. 2-5, 5-8 p.m.; Nov. 7, 9 a.m.-noon; Nov. 9, 5-8 p.m.; and Nov. 10, 5-8 p.m. All registration dates will be held at the McKinney Unit on Highway 72. The cost is $90 - $40 forBoys & Girls Club membership fee and $50 for athletic fee. Visit www.

Young at Heart Mixed Senior League, USBC sanctioned, $5.95/wk includes lunch with a portion to be donated to the youth league scholarship fund;

BENTON COUNTY BLUES: High school aged boys interested in learning and playing rugby in the spring may sign up now for fall practice. The Benton County Blues U19s practice each Tuesday and Thursday evening at 5 p.m. at the 1st Street National Guard armory in Rogers.
